Last July 9, we are having our recollection here in Davao. I thought that we are going to go to a place in which you can really meditate, but when I saw the place, the first thing that really come to my mind is not to go downstairs. Because I really expect that we are going to go to a place in which solemn. Just like last recollection when I was in 1st year college. I really appreciate the beauty of the surrounding. But still it is ok because I go there not to enjoy but to feel the presence of God and reflect for what I have done to my past and mistakes and to realize that there is GOD.

P.E Practical Exam
As I said today will be our practical exam in P.E., and I hope that we really get a high grade in our presentation a while ago. I know that it is not perfect enough but still I am hoping that we made to get a high score or grade rather in our practical exam and also later I have my exam in P.E again but it is different because it is a written exam. I don’t know if I to passed it or not, because some of the questions there I left it blank. This is also the reason why I am so late in our Theology class that took my teacher to get angry on me.

Earthquake
Some of the Filipinos and not only Filipinos but also some of the people living in the outside country are really in panics yesterday when we all know about the said earthquake. But by Gods help there is no earthquake came. And you know what it us approximately 7.5 magnitude and it can destroy one city or not only one city but one country. Yes! and many of the people will die if that said earthquake is true. I am so afraid because I think that it is the earthquake that said in the prophecy of the late S. Lucia of Portugal and the message was from our Holy Mother. But yesterday at the news the broadcaster said and make it clear that the said earthquake is not true and he tell also that no one can predict if there is an earthquake that will occur.

Calculus
Tomorrow our exam will calculus so I have to go this afternoon early so that I can made to sutdy even a little so that I can made to pass this exam. This is the first exam in this semester and I hope that I can start my semester with high grades I hope but I think it is too impossible because I have some of my quizzes they are all very low, I mean is that I really have a very low grade in our quizzes, I hope that tomorrow I can made to pass my exam and get a high grade so that I can made to get a high grade just like the past semester.

HS student killed by Fire
A high school student died after being trapped in one of the five houses gutted by fire in Sta. Ana district, Manila before dawn Friday.
Police identified the fatality as Francisco Leodones, 12, of No. 1725, Punta in Sta. Ana district.
Snooky Leodones, the victim's aunt, said they tried to wake the victim up as flames consumed their home around 3 a.m.
The woman said she hurriedly ran out of the house and tried to save some belongings, thinking that her nephew was already safe outside.
She discovered that Leodones had died in the blaze while firefighters were clearing debris.
Arson probers said that flames spread from the Leodones family's home toward the Emilio Aguinaldo Elementary School. At least three floors of a school building were gutted.
Fire also destroyed four more houses before flames were put out around 4 a.m.

Water samples inside sunken ferry

FPA Executive Director Norlito Gicana said the results of the July 1 surface water tests have been forwarded to Transport Undersecretary Elena Bautista.
Bautista, head of the government task force overseeing search and retrieval operations, said test results of water samples inside the ferry will be released later Wednesday. On Monday, divers took four water samples from inside the sunken ferry by drilling holes into the cargo deck.
The government and the ferry owners have abandoned a plan to bore a hole into the 24,000-ton vessel to retrieve the bodies and a cargo of endosulfan that threatens the marine environment. Instead, the sunken ferry will be refloated in the latest effort to recover hundreds of bodies trapped inside.

Three buried alive
Three people, including two children, died while another went missing following a landslide in Samboan, Cebu on Sunday night.
Senior Police Officer 1 Dominador Perolino, acting town police chief, identified the young fatalities as Nathaniel and Errol, both surnamed Cañete. The third fataility was identified as Florence Galla.
Perolino said the three died after four homes in Barangay Poblacion were buried by a landslide Sunday night.
The police officer said the landslide occurred due to heavy rains in Cebu province the whole Sunday.
A certain Edwin Galla Jr. remained missing while six occupants of the buried houses have been brought to Malabuyoc District Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a total of 134 families were evacuated from three flooded villages in Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday.

Four whale sharks
DAGUPAN CITY - Residents of Bonuan Binloc were surprised to see four whale sharks along the coast of the beach this Tuesday around seven o'clock in the morning.
According to the residents, two were seen in the morning and around three in the afternoon, two more were noticed.
Elmer Saranglao, worker of a nearest resort, said that some fishermen were planning already to get the whale sharks and bring the meat to the market. Thios prompted him to call the attention of officials on the situation.
Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said that the whale sharks were having their feeding season here.

passengers missing
A Philippine ferry with more than 700 people on board capsized during a typhoon and most are missing, officials said on Sunday.
Rescuers were trying to reach the scene where the MV Princess of Stars sank near Sibuyan island in the centre of the country but churning waves from Typhoon Fengshen made the crossing hazardous.
"The ship is upside down. We are waiting for rescuers but there are none so far. Our pump boats are all broken," Ricardo Aligno, a town councilor from the coastal village of San Fernando, told local radio.
The coast guard expected one of its ships to arrive in the area by early afternoon. The ferry sank about three kilometers from shore.
Local mayor Nanette Tansingco told radio that three survivors had been found.
But at least four others aboard are known to have died.
The bodies of two women and some children's' slippers were washed ashore. Before dawn on Sunday, some villagers heard warning sirens from the ship, which had 626 passengers and 121 crew on board.

800 passengers stranded
Close to 800 passengers are stranded in ports of Bicol Friday as typhoon Frank (international codename Fengshen) battered the region and parts of the Visayas, the National Disaster Coordinating Council said.
Initial NDCC data showed that a total of 794 people were stranded in various ports in Bicol as public storm warning signal No. 3 was hoisted over some parts of the region.
NDCC said 153 are stranded in Matnog port while 30 others failed to sail home from Pilar in Sorsogon province. There were 244 people stranded in Tabaco City, Albay; 10 in Virac, Catanduanes; and 357 in Masbate province.
As of 11 a.m., weather bureau PAGASA said signal No. 3 has been raised in the provinces of Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay and Catanduanes in Luzon as well as in Samar provinces, Leyte and Biliran Island in the Visayas.
Signal No. 2 was hoisted over Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Southern Leyte, Burias Island, northern Cebu, Dinagat Island and Siargao Island.

Oil crosses 136 dollars
NEW YORK - Crude oil hit 136 dollars a barrel Friday for the first time in New York trade, jumping more than eight dollars in a day as the market responded to a sharp decline in the dollar.
New York's main oil futures contract, light sweet crude for July delivery, touched an all-time high of 136.62 dollars a barrel, up 8.83 dollars from Thursday's close.
That far outstripped its previous all-time peak of 135.09 dollars struck on on May 22.
The dollar slumped after the US government reported the US unemployment rate jumped unexpectedly by a half percentage point to 5.5 percent last month, the steepest increase in more than two decades.
The weakening dollar boosts oil prices because it makes crude relatively cheaper for buyers using other currencies, analysts said.

Four hurt in Cavite LPG blast
Four members of a family were injured after a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder exploded inside their home in Rosario, Cavite, before dawn Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Edgar Rotero of the Cavite Police Provincial Office said Vigildo Bombita and his three sons identified as Niño, Bryan and Byron, were asleep on the second floor of their home when the LPG tank exploded around 1 a.m.
Rotero said the victims fell from the second floor after it collapsed because of the explosion's impact. Three other homes were affected by the explosion, police investigators said.
The victims were rushed to St. Martin's Hospital in Rosario town.
Rotero said Vigildo initially suspected that the explosion was caused by the air-conditioning unit. Police ordnance personnel, however, ruled out Vigildo's theory because the unit was still working properly.

Las Piñas fire
Three people were hurt and 130 houses burned down when a fire broke out in Las Piñas City Saturday night.
Firefighters estimated that more than P3 million worth of property in Factor Compound in Barangay Almanza Uno were destroyed by the blaze.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire but they suspect that a lighted candle left unattended inside one of the houses may have sparked the fire.
The residents, however, suspect arson--they said the fire may have been deliberately set in order to drive them out of their homes.

3G offerings from Smart
SMART Communications Inc. will soon offer new 3G (third-generation) services that involve more complex applications following the grant of additional frequencies to the cellular firm. Smart, to date, has cornered a total of 25 Megahertz (MHz) of frequency spectrum.
Officials told the BusinessMirror in an interview last week that the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has granted Smart’s request for an additional 10 MHz of frequency band, specifically the 825-835/870-880 MHz band.
These are the very same frequencies which subsidiary Pilipino Telephone Corp. (Piltel) has been holding on to for many years now.
Piltel is no longer operating its AMPS (advance mobile-phone system technology) network and is just using the GSM (global system for mobile communications) infrastructure of Smart for its Talk ‘N Text brand. Piltel had been paying Smart the corresponding spectrum users’ fee (SUF) for this purpose.
“The NTC favorably considers the request and assigns frequency band 825-835/870-880 MHz to Smart,” a portion of NTC’s letter to Smart stated.

Storm Damage
CAMP OLIVAS, PAMPANGA - Opening of classes in almost all areas in typhoon-ravaged Zambales will be delayed as hundreds of classrooms were damaged and destroyed by the wrath of tropical storm Cosme, education officials announced.
However, enrollment for students in all levels will go on as scheduled, said Odon Santiago, head of the regional physical facilities stationed at the regional office of the Department of Education (DepEd)
"Enrollment will go on as schedule but classes might be delayed to pave the way for the repair and rehabilitations of some 334 classrooms destroyed by the wrath of tropical storm "Cosme", said Santiago.
Santiago, who joined a special meeting of the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council 3, said five school districts including Sta.Cruz North, Sta.Cruz South, Candelaria, Masinloc and Iba have schools with classrooms that were found to be hazardous to occupants. These areas were hardest hit by the recent typhoon.
